Raspberry Pi

Just before Christmas 2014 I got a Raspberry Pi B+ from Amazon just to see what is the all the buzz about. When I opened it I was impressed of the quality of the product even on visual evaluation. It is really pleasant to handle and work with.

Furthermore, I was impressed by the quality of the software available for Raspberry Pi. Raspbian is a full blown Linux distribution based on Debian distribution. It already has Scratch which allow a beginner write a simple computer game. Then OpenELEC which is an embedded entertainment center based on Kodi (formerly XBMC).

Raspberry Pi does not have a WiFi adapter but an Asus USB-N10 Nano WiFi adapter works out of the box.

In February 2015 a new model Raspberry Pi 2 Model B Desktop (Quad Core CPU 900 MHz, 1 GB RAM, Linux) has been released. This device brought Raspberry Pi on anther level – the system is much responsive with a negligible increase of power consumption.

IMHO, this is a definitely must have kit for any computer enthusiast.
